About Claytons

Claytons Carpets Ltd is Lincoln’s largest family owned Carpet & Furniture Superstore. Established in Lincoln in 1963, we have grown with the aim of offering excellent service and great value to our customers. The Office Administrator position will be based at our store just off Tritton Road in Lincoln. It is rare that job openings come up within our company, as our staff tend to stay with us, and this is the first job opening for a few years. We find ourselves looking for our newest office team member because a very valued member of our staff is leaving to persue her love of crafting.

The Ideal Applicant...

The person that we are looking for to join the team should be efficient and have a friendly, can do, attitude and outlook. Being a relatively small company the role and tasks can be varied and so we require a flexible individual to fit well within our organisation. In return you will be working in a really nice small friendly office environment, a place where you can really feel that you belong when you come to work. We are a financially secure, locally owned company who reinvest back into our business and so can also offer the right applicant job security.

The ideal applicant would have experience in a similar role and be used to using Sage, although this is not an essential requirement as on the job training would be given as well as training on our in house retail software. I.T. proficiency is very important as well as willingness to learn and adapt and an eye for detail, efficiency and good organisation skills.

You should have confidence in dealing with a variety of people from customers to salespeople and you should be commercially aware, energetic, with a hands on approach to helping the efficient running of our vital back office function from purchase / sales ledger to invoicing, credit / stock control, data entry to the general administration of helping to run a busy office and website and liaising with customers, it is a varied role.

Applicants are required to have the ability to work both on their own initiative, but also as part of the team, excellent organisational, personal and communication skills are essential.

So if you have the enthusiasm, friendly personality and passion to help to make our office continue to run efficiently, and you want to come to work in a nice place to work, you could be just the person we are looking for.
